to Honor Our Heroes for all OIF/OEF patients at Walter Reed
Army Medical Center. Lunch and hospitality are served up for
our special honorees. Games, singing, and special guests are regularly

| RESOURCE :: Emergency air travel |
| Air Tran Airways has generously donated
emergency air travel to patients injured in OIF or OEF (active duty,
guard, or reserves) and
their family members — to
travel between the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and their homes
on a route that AirTran flies. To apply for this travel grant, please
submit the travel
request form. |

Do you need help?
HOHF
provides funding, services, and volunteers to complement the support
of our military injured in either Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation
Iraqi Freedom. We provide mentors and patient advocates, identify
and fund educational opportunities for the soldier, coordinate specialty
counseling (financial assistance, career, housing, etc.), and assist
with emergency funding needs.
We ask that service members approach official resources
and channels for assistance before requesting support from the Foundation,
as we are a volunteer organization with limited financial resources.
This special fund is to help service members and their
families on a case by case basis. To apply for a grant, please submit
the assistance grant request form. |
| EVENT :: "Hire a Hero" Career Nights |
| Hire a Hero career nights take place regularly at Walter Reed Army Medical Center
and are open to anyone injured from service in either OIF/OEF. Those who have decided to choose
another career path after their service will be introduced to potential employers who have openings
and are ready to hire. |
| EVENT :: Resume Writing and other Career Events |
| Frequently held resume and career nights at Walter Reed Army Medical Center are
open to all of those injured and still hospitalized as well as those released as outpatients. |

- Eligible injured soldiers, marines, etc.
wanting to attend an event, please email us. Also see AW2 for
further program information.
- Companies interested in participating in Career Night, please
email us and share your company's bio, employment
needs, etc.
- Volunteers wishing to assist at an event, please email us and specify
your skill set.
When we get these events off the ground, we will look to host other
regional events for patients who have moved to regional care in
other parts of the country. We will be looking for groups such as the
West Point AOG, AUSA Chapters, etc. to help host the local events in their
areas.
